Goodbye Sweet Rebecca Sue

Posted by Corinne Lettau on November 6, 2010 at 7:54 PM

It breaks our heart to announce the loss of sweet

~Rebecca Sue~

If you have been to our barn,

you have met Rebecca and encountered her sweet spirit.

She taught so many humans so much about life, caring and kindness.

In addition to walk, trot, canter, jumping, dressage...

with elegance and grace.

A beautiful majestic horse now graces heaven in the presence of those we lost before her. I imagine she is rubbing noses with Zuma and my beloved Egeris today, galloping across the golden gates together.

Please send your thoughts, prayers and condolences to

her faithful, loyal and loving family

~Paul and Jodi Messenich~

Donations to Zuma's Rescue Ranch in honor of Rebecca Sue are welcome.

Help Us Support Zuma's Kids

Posted by Corinne Lettau on October 24, 2010 at 8:00 PM

Denver Equestrians & Zuma's Rescue Ranch

team up to serve at-risk kids and families with

Vemma Next!

Corinne & Jodi

Were you able to attend the Zuma's Rescue Ranch annual fundraiser in July?

Troy & Sandy

If so, you probably remember Devon Kerns and Jay Morrison of Heart Core Alliance

(far left and far right, below).

My husband Troy is on the Board of Directors at Zuma's Rescue Ranch. He met these two young visionaries while working on the fundraiser. Corinne met them just before they surprised Paul and Jodi Messinech with a brand new MINI VAN ~ donated for the purpose of transporting kids that would otherwise not have a ride to the barn for therapy.

That caught my attention.

Since then, Denver Equestrians has partnered with Devon and Jay from

HeartCore Alliance to help spread the word about

Vemma Next

the most complete nutritional supplement available for children.

As a mom, I do my best to ensure Charlie and Josh get what their growing minds and bodies require daily. However I know they do not always eat their fish, fruits and vegetables, and are often lacking

vital omegas, vitamins and minerals.

Taking that one step further, it breaks my heart to think about the millions of children who don't know where their next meal will come from, much less if there will be green leafy vegetables on the plate.

This is where Vemma Next completes the puzzle for so many families.

This is the best part:

When you purchase a months supply of Vemma Next for your children, Vemma donates serving for serving to a child in need.

Because of their relationship with Devon and Jay, Zuma's Rescue Ranch is now one of the 501c3 non-profit recipients of Vemma Next donations.

Isn't it great to know that when your kids drink their super juice (thats what my kids call it!),

so do the at-risk youth in homeless shelters, orphanages and in therapy at Zuma's Rescue Ranch?

Please join us!

*We would love to see all of our riders in this amazing nutritional program.*

Please follow our Vitality with Vemma link to watch the video describing the Vemma Next mission.

Happy Riding!

Next Pony Club Session begins November 6th!

Posted by Corinne Lettau on October 24, 2010 at 5:27 PM

Thank you to the Young Riders and Parents

for your continued support of The Pony Club!

We appreciate your business and enjoy watching your young riders develop into thoughtful, strong, caring and capable equestrian athletes.

Thank you for your part in teaching them the importance of giving back to the community at such a young age!

Competitors should have left the Schooling Show last weekend with their ribbon and a completed Pony Club Level 1/2 Card. If you were not able to attend the show, please ask either Katie or Corinne for the card at your next visit. These progress cards will become increasingly more important as the riders begin to compete against themselves and their previous scores.

The next Pony Club session begins Saturday, November 6th at 9:30am. Please drop your child off in the clubhouse, sign them in and leave an emergency contact phone number for that day.

Mark your calendars as we will not meet the weekend of Thanksgiving. The Schooling Show this session will take place on Saturday, December 18th at 11:00am. We are compiling information to make significant changes next year - Pony Club equestrians will compete against their own best point scores at 2011 Schooling Shows!

As the weather turns, please send an extra jacket and hat/gloves if necessary. We are building individual cubbys for Pony Club riders to store their lunches, water bottles, snacks, helmets, boots and accessories in the clubhouse. Going forward, parents will drop off children in the clubhouse at 9:30am each Saturday, signing riders in at that time. Pick-up and sign-out will be at 1:30pm in the clubhouse, riders are required to bring all of thier belongings home each week.

Make-up lessons will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays on an as-needed basis. If you know your child will be absent one week, please let us know - we will do our best to get the riding portion of that lesson completed within the 6-week session.

We are a growing program, and because of the additional trainer coming on board, we currently have room for two more riders! As always, we have a lot of interest and this session will sell out quickly. Please confirm your session space as soon as possible. Registration is secured with tuition on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have already registered, please contact Corinne@DenverEquestrians.com to confirm your rider is on the list.

If you have not already done so, please

Register for Pony Club Session IV Today!

Thank you again for your participation in the Denver Equestrians Pony Club program. You can feel good about riding with us for so many reasons, including the fact that 40% of all proceeds directly support the horses and at-risk youth of Zuma's Rescue Ranch.

Summer Day Camp Program Kicks-Off!

Posted by Corinne Lettau on June 20, 2010 at 6:38 PM

Denver Equestrians' Summer Camp Program

kicked off the season with our first summer session last week!

Our sessions are limited to six riders per week. Three riders from the Pony Club joined us, and we also three new campers. Everyone was able to make new friends and strengthen existing friendships at the barn~

On Monday, we learned about Safety, Grooming and Horse Care.

The girls toured the facility and met all the horses.

The campers loved their horse assignments!

Tuesday we studied tack, parts of the saddle and bridle, and horse anatomy. We also learned the basics of proper English riding, and the girls were eager to learn how to post the trot!

Wednesday, we learned about horse breeds, history, colors and size.

We spent time cleaning tack and learning about how to set grain (feed) and clean up after the horses in the stalls and in the paddocks.

Thursday we all enjoyed a day on the trail.

Following the ride, campers learned how to bathe and clip their horses, in preparation for the fun show!

Friday the girls were able to demonstrate what they had learned for their parents and friends at the fun show. Everyone had such a wonderful time!

THANK YOU, GIRLS~ FOR A WONDERFUL WEEK AT CAMP!

Campers: Rose, Shay, Andersen, Juliet, Ava and Naomie

Councilors In Training: Halle & Marline

Several Summer 2010 camp weeks are sold out, however there is limited space available.

Please visit our Day Camp link above for detailed information and available sessions.
